ultrasone PRO2900 Ultrasone Debuts PRO 2900 Headphones

While standard, single cable headphones are commonplace in most pro audio and audiophile applications, a balanced headphone coupled with a balanced amplifier offers unique advantages over the former such as increased audio performance due to a doubling the slew rate and voltage swing power, while reducing distortion components and eliminating crosstalk. Ultrasone claims the end result is decreased distortion and ultimately superior audio performance. To achieve this paragon of headphone fidelity, balanced headphones must be paired with a balanced amplifier (4-channel amp with 2 inverted positive channels) that instead of using a common ground, uses two wires per side to deliver positive and negative audio signals to each side of the headphone. Now we all know what $700 for headphones means… a far fetch dream just stick to the Technical Pro HP-820 and save $640. but if your still not convinced read on…

Ultrasone’s PRO 2900s boast a classic black design, velvet covered black ear pads and a diamond-cut logo insignia on the ear cup. The PRO 2900 features a 40mm titanium-plated driver and a soft USC-Cable that is paired with Neutrik connectors. Ultrasone’s newest headphones contain MU-Metal shielding (ULE technology) that reduce the amount of radiation directed to the listener by up to 98%, as compared to conventional headphones. The PRO 2900s also contain Ultrasone’s patented S-Logic Plus technology for reduced sound pressure on the ear drum and improved tonal perception. This gives users the advantage of wearing Ultrasone headphones for many hours without their ears hurting. Ultrasone’s PRO 2900 comes in a hard-sided carrying case along with two removable cables (one spiral and one straight) and spare speed-switch ear pads.

» S-Logic Natural Surround Sound Plus
» Dynamic principle, open
» Frequency range 6-42.000 Hz
» Impedance 40 Ohm
» Sound pressure level 96 dB
» MU Metal buffer board, reduced field emissions in accordance with ULE (=Ultra Low Emission) standard
» Driver 40 mm titanium-plated
» Weight 295 g (without cord)

Ultrasone’s PRO 2900 headphones are available now and cost $549; the Balanced PRO 2900 version will set you back $799. More information on the Ultrasone PRO 2900 headphones.

dmxb1 d I believe i can dj.....
I always wanted to be able to DJ, something about it is just so remarkable. whether it being that the whole party’s mood is controlled by your fingers or whether the fact that the skill is unmatched by anyone in the room. One thing is certain when a DJ is working there is just 1 thing in his world and that is his music. He creates a world of blend and balance between beats and magically sends the floor into a rave. But if you ask him how he managed to create such fantastic sounds most probably he will tell you it was due to his gear & skill. With the Technical Pro DMXB1 you get the power needed to create those moods.

Technical Pro’s mixers have a reputation for providing high quality audio and reliability, giving professional DJs the tools they need to expand their musical horizon, with capabilities for mixing, remixing, producing and performing. Incorporating features recommended by many professional DJs and club engineers, they raise the bar on flexibility and performance.

Aircurve – Acoustic Amplifier for iPhone

January 19th, 2010 David No comments

 Aircurve Acoustic Amplifier for iPhone

    * Acoustically amplifies your iPhone
    * Custom-engineered waveguide requires no power
    * Allows syncing/charging using Griffin Dock Cable or the charge/sync cable that came with your iPhone
    * Great for nightstand or tabletop
    * Amplifies by about 10 decibels

Loud and Clear

Your iPhone, that is — and without using speakers. AirCurve is a cleverly-designed acoustic amplifier that turns your iPhone into a no-power-drain alarm clock on your nightstand, or a mini sound system that never needs batteries or adapters.

AirCurve looks like a simple, elegantly minimal stand for your iPhone. But inside is a coiled waveguide “horn’ that collects the sound from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, amplifies it (by about 10 decibels), and projects it into the room. AirCurve’s waveguide has been mathematically engineered to deliver amazing amplification — you’ll swear there are full-sized speakers in there. And AirCurve’s see-through translucent polycarbonate body lets you appreciate the graceful curves inside that do all the work.

So will AirCurve charge my iPhone?

By itself, no. For this reason, we’ve added a pass-through slot so you can feed a dock cable through AirCurve. Connect that dock cable to your computer or power adapter and you can sync or charge while you listen.

AirCurve’s pass-through slot will accept Griffin’s Dock Cable (available separately) or the dock cable that came with your iPhone. It may accept others, as well.

Newegg has it for $10 + 2 Shipping

The Levelator 2.0 a Free Must Have for Any podcast.

    January 12th, 2010 David 11 comments

Levelator 2.0 screen The Levelator 2.0 a Free Must Have for Any podcast.

    What is The Levelator®?

Do you believe in magic? You will after using The Levelator® to enhance your podcast. And you’ll be amazed that it’s free, now even for commercial use.

So what is The Levelator®? It’s software that adjusts the audio levels within your podcast or other audio file for variations from one speaker to the next, for example. It’s not a compressor, normalizer or limiter although it contains all three. It’s much more than those tools, and it’s much simpler to use. The UI is dirt-simple: Drag-and-drop any WAV or AIFF file onto The Leveler’s application window, and a few moments later you’ll find a new version which just sounds better.

Have you ever recorded an interview in which you and your guest ended up at different volumes? How about a panel discussion where some people were close to microphones and others were not? These are the problems the post-production engineers of Team ITC here at The Conversations Network solve every day, and it used to take them hours of painstaking work with expensive and complex tools like SoundTrack Pro, Audacity, Sound Forge or Audition to solve them. Now it takes mere seconds. Seriously. The Levelator® is unlike any other audio tool you’ve ever seen, heard or used. It’s magic. And it’s free.

    You’ll believe in magic.

    • Requires Windows XP, Vista or 7
    • Download The Levelator® for Windows (version 2.0.3)

    OS X
