Use Mayonnaise to Clean Crayon “Art” From Your Walls

July 11th, 2012 David No comments

original Use Mayonnaise to Clean Crayon “Art” From Your Walls

Whether you have a little one who loves to play Picasso all over your walls in crayon, or you’re just watching a younger sibling or friend of family and they’ve all but wrecked the paint with a stick of Burnt Sienna, the fix may be as close as your fridge. Grab the mayo, we’re going to work.

The oils in the mayo do wonders to break down the wax in crayon. Just dab a little over the crayon lines, wait a few minutes, and then come back with a damp cloth. It may take a little pressure, but the mayo and the crayon should both come off in one fell swoop. that’s all there is to it.

If you still have trouble with that stuck on crayon, we’ve shown you how to remove it with bread, and even white vinegar, so take your pick for what works best for you. Have any other creative crayon removal tips? Share them in the comments below.

Snowball Crossbow

December 27th, 2011 David No comments

Snow Crossball 650x446 Snowball Crossbow

kids these days.  All of them tote around cell phones, if not smartphones and probably spend their free time tapping a screen if not just watching one. So the chances of getting them outside this winter, you know, when the temperature drops to a bone chilling 20 degrees, is slim at best.  Unless of course you bribe them with one of these: the Crossbow snow Launcher.

This bad boy can propel snow balls up to 60 feet.  However, unlike a smartphone, there is some manual labor involved.  By that we mean kids will have to generate their own ammo by collecting and compacting snow into the included snow ball maker – ya it includes one of those too.  Next, and much like a bow and arrow, it’s as simple as dumping a snowball into the front, drawing back the bands and pulling the trigger.  Before you know it, your kid will be the king of the igloo with children lining up, eager to give up their lunch money with the hopes of avoiding an ice ball to the dome.

Sharper Image is tossing in a vinyl target for those who have a penchant for head shots.  They sell it for $39.99.

Stairs or Slide?

Staircase Slide Combo Built By the Coolest Parents Ever

By Sean Fallon

stair slide Stairs or Slide?at the request of his children, London architect Alex Michaelis installed a slide next to the staircase in their new eco-friendly dream home.

Here we see on of his children throwing caution to the wind and diving head first down the slide. But it’s not just the kids having fun:

“We tend to have a lot of the kids’ friends around-they’re here perhaps more than at some of the other parents’ homes,” Michaelis says, adding that even grown-ups can’t resist skipping the stairs. “We’ve been known after a big dinner party to use the slide.”

stair slide Stairs or Slide?

No kidding—this is better than an elevator any day. Although, Michaelis’ setup doesn’t hold up to Rod Miller’s spiral stair slide with fiber optic lighting.
